D-Town Baseball in Lakeland, Florida

Joker Marchant StadiumI know I haven’t been good about updating as of late, but the season is around the corner so things will be picking up here at D-Town Baseball as well. Right now I am in Lakeland, Florida, on vacation, and ready to watch some Spring Training baseball.

My wife and I arrived today and didn’t get to see any games as the Tigers were on the road today playing Atlanta. We will be attending tomorrows game in Dunedin against the Blue Jays which, according to Google Maps, is about a one hour and nineteen minute drive away. We will then attend a game on Sunday at Joker Marchant Stadium against the Pirates.

We did take a few minutes to run by the stadium today which was pretty empty with no game going on. The practice fields were also dead as some big storms are on their way into town. It was my first time seeing Joker Marchant in person and it looks like a very nice facility.

I’ll be updating the blog in the next few days with pictures of the games actions. According to Jason Beck, I won’t be seeing Gary Sheffield tomorrow and possibly Miguel Cabrera. Both are showing some injuries which doesn’t bode well since the season is still a little over half a month away.

I’m looking very forward to seeing Bonderman and then Robertson on the mound. Stay tuned!
