The 2007 Awards from the Detroit Independent Baseball Scribes (DIBS) was announced this week. I was honored enough to be given a vote this year and here they are:

Tiger Player of the Year

1. Magglio Ordonez*
2. Curtis Granderson
3. Placido Polanco

Tiger Pitcher of the Year

1. Justin Verlander*
2. Chad Durbin
3. Nate Robertson

Tiger Breakout Player of the Year

1. Bobby Seay
2. Ryan Raburn
3. Jair Jurrjens

Seems like folks agreed with me for the most part. Two out of three ain’t bad. I seem to have been the only one not to vote for Curtis Granderson in the Breakout Player category but I limited it to newcomers to the Tiger uniform.
