Andrew Miller has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a pulled hamstring. To fill the roster slot, but not the starting rotation slot, Detroit recalled Fernando Rodney. This makes the second Tiger starter in a single week to be placed on the disabled list after Kenny Rogers injured his elbow.

No word yet on who will take over Millers slot in the starting rotation though it won’t likely be Virgil Vasquez. Because both Kenny Rogers and Miller are lefties that leaves the rotation, once lefty heavy, with a single left hander in Nate Robertson. Kenny Rogers was replaced by Jordan Tata, who is right handed, for at least one more start this Sunday. The other immediate fill-in’s possible in Vasquez, Bazardo, Durbin, Miner or even Larrison are all right handed.

Some possible tough decisions on the horizon.
