Tigers face tough second half schedule

With a little less than half the games remaining in the season, below is a look at the toughness of the schedule for each team in the AL Central. The second-half contains mostly games amongst division teams so it can the numbers do get titlted a bit since KC will obviously play 3 teams with > .500 winning percentages.

Second Half
Detroit Tigers Cleveland Indians Minnesota Twins Chicago White Sox Kansas City Royals
Games Left 76 74 74 76 74
.475+ Games 45 40 42 55 50
.475+ % 59.21% 54.05% 56.76% 72.37% 67.57%

Of the top three contenders Detroit has the toughest schedule and Cleveland has the easiest. That is unfortunate. Additionally the Tigers have two doubleheaders already scheduled: Sept 11th vs TEX & July 24th vs CWS. This leaves little room for additional rain outs as they would likely face more doubleheaders or take away one of the very few off day’s through the rest of the season.

Even though the Tigers have the toughest schedule of the three contenders, the difference is not very large. More games like this one will help make up for it, too: http://thenewsroom.com/details/496002?c_id=wom-bc-bh

No, the difference isn’t large but Detroit lost the division last year by a single game.

This race between Cleveland, Detroit and Minnesota is going to be very close.

I WOULD HOPE THIS WOULD GET TO THE TEAM.
MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN WATCHING MANY YEARS, AND ENJOYING IT VERY MUCH ESPECIALY THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. THE ONLY REASON I AM WRITING THIS LETTER IS THAT MY WIFE WAS SUCH A FAN SEVERAL MONTHS AGO BEFORE SPRING TRAINING SHE WAS GOING TO WRITE A LETTER TO TRY TO ENCOURAGE THE TEAM.I TOLD HER SHE SHOULD WAIT JUST BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS. WELL SHE PASSED AWAY ON 27, FEBRUARY 2008. SINCE WE WERE MARRIED GOING ON 44 YEARS I THOUGHT I SHOULD ADDRESS THE TEAM IN HER PLACE BECAUSE I KNOW SHE WOULD LIKE THAT. FIRST SHE WOULD SAY THANK YOU FOR THE MANY YEARS OF ENTERTAINMENT, AND THEN SHE WOULD SAY THIS IS OUR YEAR, GO GET M. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS.

HER NAME WAS MARY ELLEN SAADY AND I THINK SHE LOVED WATCHING YOU GUYS MORE THAN ANYTHING.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH
