I guess it comes down to my seeing Ledezma's potential as filling a starting slot as being worth more than a reliever. McBride is good but not great.

Ledezma has some good pitches as well. Kyle Sleeth was a first round pick as well :)

I have to disagree as well. I have two favorite teams, the Tigers and Braves. So I have seen alot of McBride. He has a very good breaking ball, and there were times he was the best reliever the Braves had. Ledezma has a better chance of fulfilling his potential in the NL, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him in Atlanta's rotation by the end of the year. Seay and Byrdak are barely useable.

I disagree. McBride has outstanding minor league numbers, is a former 1st round pick, and I think may be an upgrade over Ledezma.

Ledezma has outstanding stuff, no one can deny that. But, his command to theis point in his career has been suspect at best.

Kurt, Your right and in reality, if no team has anyone to give and you absolutely need to open a roster spot then you are at everyone elses mercy.

I held out hope for Ledezma and though he could be worth more to others since he is a viable starter as well.

I just think it was a case of not having any place to put Ledezma. I was a bit surprised Dombrowski got so little in return, but carrying Ledezma was not really helping matters either. At least they don't have to carry McBride. Still, I'd have liked to see a better return.
