The Free Press is reporting that the Tigers have called up Eulogio De La Cruz to the big leagues. De La Cruz started the year in Erie as a starter and was successful and was recently moved up to Toledo and moved to the bullpen with some success:
De La Cruz’s ERA was almost two runs lower as a starter (2.70) than as a reliever (4.54) at Double-A Erie last year, and he has spent all of this season in Erie’s starting rotation — with similar results (4-5, 3.57).
Yorman Bazardo was moved back to Toledo to make room. He had a 4.15 ERA in the bullpen this year for the Tigers.
