Detroit releases Jose Mesa

According to Jason Beck, the Tigers have released reliever Jose Mesa in a move that quite possibly will be the end to his career.

This isn’t a surprise other than it took so long with his 12.34 ERA but he cemented this move in his last outing against Cleveland giving up 4 runs in a single inning pitched. The Tigers will keep Zach Miner in the bullpen for now and use the empty spot to pull Fernando Rodney back from the disabled list.
