Last year’s first round draft pick for the Tigers, Andrew Miller, will be joining the Erie Seawolves. This move has been expected since the break of spring training for both Miller and Cameron Maybin. Both players have been with the Lakeland Flying Tigers to start the season so there is no reason to think that Detroit is eying Miller to fill current holes on the big league team.
Miller has had a number of inconsistent starts with the Flying Tigers ending with a 1-4 record over 7 starts and a 3.48 ERA. Miller stats and splits are available at milb.com.
Cameron Maybin is to remain in Lakeland for the time being and after getting off to a slow start is now batting .299/.427/.505. He has also racked up 40 strikeouts through 107 AB’s and is struggling with patience at the plate.
