Game 28 Preview: Tigers vs Royals

Detroit Tigers (16-11) vs Kansas City Royals (10-19)
Kauffman Stadium @ 8:10pm EST
FSND / AM 1270 / FM 97.1

Justin Verlander (1-1, 2.79 ERA) vs Brian Bannister (0-1, 4.91 ERA)

While not the first time the Tigers are facing the Royals this will be their first time running into Brian Bannister. Brian was called up from the KC Class AAA team after their last meeting with Detroit and will be making his third start of the season. His last start against Seattle started off very well only getting into trouble in his seventh inning of work.

Justin Verlander, on the other hand, is a Royal Killer. He’s sporting a career 1.36 ERA against KC with a 0.90 ERA at Kauffman Stadium. With the Detroit offense coming around and Verlander on the mound this could be lopsided. That said, Justin struggled in his last outing lasting only 3 innings in the blowout against Minnesota in Comerica Park.

The Royals are riding a two game winning streak and the Tigers a four game win streak.
