Detroit Tigers (12-9) vs Chicago White Sox (11-9)
U.S. Cellular Field @ 8:11pm EST
FSND / AM 1270 / FM 97.1

[UPDATE] Tonight’s game has been postponed due to rain. The make up date has not been determined. The next Tiger game will be tomorrow at Comerica Park against the Minnesota Twins.

Nate Robertson (2-1, 2.05) vs Jose Contreras (1-2, 6.16)

Robertson will get his second shot at the White Sox after an April 21st no decision. Nate pitched well giving up only two earned runs but also getting a crucial error that cost two more runs.

In his April 21st start against Chicago he allowed only 2 earned runs but errors allowed another two runs as the Tigers racked up a total of three errors on the night one of which was from Nate himself. The game started off rough but Robertson pulled it together in to last into the sixth inning before being replaced by Zumaya. Ultimately the bullpen couldn’t get the win in extra innings.

Overall Nate has had an outstanding year and is in the tops of the league in ERA at 2.05.

Jose Contreras has had a start to the year that he would rather forget but has had a few nice games and his control has started to come in as the season progresses. Being at home might help Jose though his only start this year at home he didn’t last through the first inning giving up 7 earned runs.

Tigers will look to continue thier offensive improvement which has been powerful at the top of the lineup in the last three games but fades near the end of the lineup. U.S. Cellular Field is a good home run ballpark and the Tigers hit two against Contreras at Comerica so it could be a slugfest.
