Jeremy Bonderman (0-0, 2.57 ERA) vs Gil Meche (1-1, 3.10 ERA)
After first making the Royals the first team to reach double digits in losses the Tigers have a shot at picking up their first sweep of the 2007 season. Today’s pitching matchup could be a good one with both team putting forward their aces.
Royals Gil Meche has put up a couple of good starts with Detroit treating him to his only loss so far by scoring 6 runs over 7 innings on April 7th. Meche was a controversial off-season acquisition by the Royals but has played the part of ace pretty well so far. The Royals offense is sure to come out looking to back up Gil and snap their six game losing streak.
Jeremy Bonderman is coming off of an amazing nine-inning start against the Blue Jays allowing a single run off of a homerun. Jeremy has on start so far this year against the Royals allowing only two runs over six innings with 8 strikeouts and a single walk. Bonderman has yet to get any decision whatsoever and will be looking for the win.
