The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Vance Wilson will not need to undergo surgery on his elbow. The bad news is that Vance will be out for one month.
“I definitely have a tear in the pronator mass, but I won’t need surgery,†Wilson continued. “I need to rest it for about a month. I can resume building it up a little bit.â€
The Tigers had feared that surgery would be necessary in which case the time line for recovery would have been much longer. In the meantime Mike Rabelo will fill in for Vance and backup Ivan Rodriguez. Rabelo has yet to see playing time but is assured some over the next month as Pudge won’t continue on his current pace for all to much longer.
