D-Town Baseball Preseason Predictions

Now that the Cardinals and Mets are playing I guess it really isn’t the pre-season any longer but I’ll make my predictions anyway. After rigorous calculations I present to you the 2007 MLB Results! (ok, there were no calculations involved.) I just couldn’t let the season start without putting these out there.

American League East

  1. Boston Red Sox
  2. New York Yankees
  3. Toronto Blue Jays
  4. Baltimore Orioles
  5. Tampa Bay Devil Rays

American League Central

  1. Detroit Tigers
  2. Cleveland Indians
  3. Minnesota Twins
  4. Chicago White Sox
  5. Kansas City Royals

American League West

  1. Los Angeles Angels
  2. Texas Rangers
  3. Oakland Athletics
  4. Seattle Mariners

National League East

  1. Atlanta Braves
  2. New York Mets
  3. Philadelphia Phillies
  4. Florida Marlins
  5. Washington Nationals

National League Central

  1. St. Louis Cardinals
  2. Milwaukee Brewers
  3. Cincinnati Reds
  4. Chicago Cubs
  5. Houston Astros
  6. Pittsburgh Pirates

National League West

  1. Los Angeles Dodgers
  2. San Diego Padres
  3. Arizona Diamondbacks
  4. San Francisco Giants
  5. Colorado Rockies

I’m not going to make predictions for who will win MVP. I probably would be way off for the National League as I don’t pay too close of attention to games outside of the American League during the season other than to track team progress. For the American League MVP it will be pretty much the same cast of characters chasing it from Jeter to Vladimir Guerrero to Mauer to Sizemore. The Tigers depend on each member of their team and don’t have a clear standout outside of Guillen who I wouldn’t say runs away with the MVP regardless of his play this year. I also believe we’ll see Jeremy Bonderman in the hunt for the CY Young.

Let the games begin!
