Rogers moves to the DL

Oh man I don’t like the sound of this. Jason Beck, John Lowe of the Free Press and Danny Knobler are all reporting that Kenny Rogers has been moved to the DL for a fatigued arm. The Tigers have moved Chad Durbin into the starting rotation and called up Bobby Seay to be in the bullpen.

Chad Durbin is a righty and will balance out the rotation a bit. The Tigers don’t seem to currently believe that this is all too serious so hopefully Kenny will be slotted back into the rotation soon. On the good news side, they now have another lefty in the bullpen in Bobby Seay that folks have been wanting. :)

What a week for Chad Durbin when you have a child, make the Tigers 25-man roster out of the bullpen then get moved into the rotation. Nobody likes seeing anyone injured but often times stars are made by stepping up while others are out.

I’m not going to panic just yet, the Tigers are able to absorb these issues with pitching much better than other folks. Chad Durbin will get a start and I’d love to see him succeed. Bobby Seay and Durbin were very close in the race for the bullpen based on performance and he is no slouch in the bullpen.
