It happens to the best of ‘em, but not so much to Curtis Granderson thus far. However today Curtis got a rare Spring Training 0-fer. In four at bats he doubled his strike out total to date (that comes to two.) Was bound to happen some time but it doesn’t take away the strides he’s made and he’s clearly still in control of his game.
I was out of town this weekend but got a chance to listen to the Tigers vs Braves game on the radio on the drive home. There were a few other notable actions:
- Zach Miner was roughed up again. He gave up two runs off a homer to Brian McCann and a total of five hits. He also had three strikeouts. Overall today didn’t help his chances of getting the last bullpen slot.
- Spring Training fan favorite and Tigers rule 5 draft pick, Edward Campusano left the game today injured. Jason Beck has a bit more about it on his blog. Jason says he left with left elbow tenderness which might be true but from the radio cast today it sounded quite painful so I’m not sure ‘tenderness’ quite sums it up.
- Santiago showed a bit of hitting ability today getting one hit and working a walk. He also was thrown out at home during a failed Tiger rally.
Wish I could have been around to watch the FSN broadcast of the other Tiger game and see Nate pitch as this game didn’t have much excitement.
