Trammell ready for next challenge; the Cubs

An article at the Chicago Sun-Times documents Alan Trammels return to baseball as the Chicago Cubs Infield and Bench coach. And his thoughts on the Tigers World Series berth last year?

I was happy for him, honestly,” Trammell said of Leyland, who repeatedly gave his predecessor credit for setting the foundation of last year’s winner.

”We know from our coaching staff that was there that we did some things right. And, unfortunately in this game, that’s just how it works sometimes.

”Obviously, I would have liked to have that opportunity. We weren’t ready at that time. And it came together for them last year. I was hoping they won.”

He certainly has his work cut out for him. Unfortunately, Detroit does not play the Cubs in Interleague games this year.
