I always enjoy reading the ‘Stat of the Day’ over at Baseball Prospectus. Today the statistic is ‘Top 5 2006 AL Rotations, by SNLVAR‘. I’ve reproduced it below as it will change tomorrow.
Two other AL Central teams also make the list; Indians and Twins. Buster Onley also points out that the Indians are set to have a stand out year.
The Indians have the makings of the kind of breakout rotation that Chicago had in 2005, that Detroit had last year.
| Team | VORP | SNLVAR |
|---|---|---|
| Detroit Tigers | 300.9 | 23.1 |
| Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim | 238.8 | 18.4 |
| Cleveland Indians | 170.3 | 17.3 |
| Minnesota Twins | 293.1 | 16.6 |
| Oakland Athletics | 251.1 | 16.0 |
The Tigers just need to build upon last year. It is going to be a great year for baseball here in Detroit.
