While most of baseball has been relatively quite these past few weeks, besides talk of Juiced baseballs, AL Central teams have been busy improving their rosters. Today the Cleveland Indians signed Keith Foulke to a 1 year deal worth $5 Million. Cleveland hopes that Keith can fill in as their much needed closer which was a major positional weakness for Cleveland last year.
As a member of the Red Sox 2004 World Series Championship team Keith pitched remarkably well ending the year with a 2.17 ERA and pitching 14 innings giving up a single run during the playoffs. What does this mean for Cleveland? Not much, but he could very well be what they need to round out their pitching staff.
