Continuing on D-Town Baseballs look at AL Central teams off season moves today we will look at what has been happening in Cleveland, Ohio.
Cleveland could very well be the team to put up the biggest fight against the Tigers in ‘07. They have also been the busiest AL Central team this off season. The Tribe [...]

Spring Training TV; Mark your Calendars

Jason Beck has updated his blog pointing out the TV schedule has been posted for Tigers Spring Training. This is for a total of 6 spring training games between ESPN and FSN Detroit. Unfortunately a few of them are day games during the week though some FSND games are weekend games. This makes it 38 [...]

Detroit Tiger Commercials

Now that the Tigers are becoming a team that’s getting noticed and some of the players becoming stars in their own right I thought I’d take a minute to throw out some idea’s for commercials. Many sports stars make as much or more than their salary doing commercials and to the degree that there is [...]

AL Central Links

Lots of interesting happenings went on over the week around the AL Central (except Chicago..)

As part of the Baseball Prospectus look at the prospects around all of MLB in their ‘Future Shock’ column they’ve published a look at the Tiger prospects. (A subscription is required and if you don’t have one it is worth it in my opinion.)

On 1130 WDFN’s ‘The Stony and Wojo Show’ they interviewed Jim Leyland today. When asked about Neifi Perez he had some interesting answers. Below is a rough non-”word for word” transcript from my co-worker Jamie:

Question: “One of the things you heard alot last year was why are you playing Neifi so much?”
Leyland: “Good question. [...]

Leyland a driver for Sheffield’s decision to come to Detroit

I just finished reading an article from the AP on Sheffield and comments he made today about Jim Leyland. It seems that Sheffield is excited to be with the Tigers and this article really got me looking forward to 2007. From the article:
”Mr. Leyland asked me if I wanted to come to Detroit, and I [...]
